Frieze Masters 2026

The Daniel Katz Gallery returns to Frieze Masters this October where we will present a curated selection of painting and sculpture from antiquity through to the twentieth century. Reflecting the gallery's cross-disciplinary approach, our display will bring together important works ranging from Ancient Greek and Roman marbles to Renaissance and Neoclassical sculpture, and outstanding examples from 19th century and 20th century masters. The gallery celebrates the enduring dialogue across artistic disciplines throughout the centuries. Highlights on our stand this year will include a stylish and beautiful portrait by Glyn Philpot of the 1930s Parisian cabaret performer, Julian Zaire who performed as ‘Tom Whiskey’, a startlingly expressive 1947 view of St. Ives by David Bomberg and one of idiosyncratic painter Algernon Newton’s most remarkable and quirky landscapes from the same year. We will also be featuring an astonishing, sensitively modelled terracotta bust of a young girl by the great French sculptor, Joseph Chinard, and a ravishing marble bust by Henri de Triqueti. From the 19th century, we have the rare opportunity to show two of eclectic genius Gustave Doré’s largescale Alpine views of the Engadine, Switzerland, seen together for the first time.
